You know I love you guys and Chase but..

This was on sportscenter a while back. It's nice to see that he could be accepted but it was kinda one of those Rudy moments. The kid never plays but then because people feel bad, the two coaches get together and they put the kid in and tell the opposing team to let him shoot to give him his dream of playing in a highschool game. You guys are much stronger than I am. I would almost be pissed.

Rudy or not, I still dug the story. Thanks, Laurie.

It really isn't about his playing and scoring in the actual game. It is about his being included, being accepted. The coaches felt bad--why? Because he had Down syndrome? Or because maybe we worked just as hard, if not harder than the rest of the guys on the team, but never had the opportunity to shine. Good for both teams for letting him have his moment in the sun. Hey, even if the other team did give him an open shot; he was still the one who needed to get that ball in the basket. Bet there were a lot of guys on that team that spent some time on the bench as well.
