Chase rode the bus home from school for the first time today. His teacher called me this afternoon, wanting to make sure I had all the bus info before she put him on to go home.
He has about a 20 minute ride, and he is usually fine in the car, so I didn't really have that many concerns. I know that there is an aid on the bus, so he won't be responsible for knowing when to get off and whatnot (can you imagine? He would be riding all over town, all afternoon!).
But still. It is strange (again) to give up complete control of Chase- to put him on a bus and expect that someone else will get him where he needs to be, without my help.
So I was watching and listening for the bus, and I heard it (10 minutes earlier that it was supposed to be- so I had to book it downstairs and out the front door to meet him). She opened the door, and he poked his little head around the corner- grinning from ear to ear.
He LOVES the bus.
The bus driver and the aid and I had a quick conversation about how they couldn't believe that this was the first time he had ridden the bus, and how he was the BEST bus rider they have ever had.
And I was worried. Ha!

Wow! Go Chase! Glad the school experience has been so good, sounds like the teacher is pretty awesome too.
You are awesome Chase! I can just imagine your cute little face poking around the corner!
So glad he is doing so well on the bus and at school!
Isn't it nice knowing that sometimes we worry for nothing!
Go Chase!
Yay Chaser!
